The Springfield-based Filipino American Historical Society (FilAmHisSo) and the Central Illinois Philippine American Society (CIPAS) will present other programs following that of the OKR.

Celebrate Rizal’s 150th Anniversary At Chicago’s Daley Plaza

The Philippine Consulate in Chicago is sponsoring an arts display at the Daley Center and a cultural program at Chicago's Daley Plaza in celebration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Philippine National Hero.
Seven Filipino-American artists will display twelve new works depicting the life, works and inspiration of Dr. Jose P. Rizal. "Renaissance Man: Jose Rizal" will be on display from August 15 to 24, 2011. Exhibiting artists include Bueno Silva, Fabie De Silva, Paul Balan, Sherie Sloane, Susan Alforque Silvano, Willi Buhay and Wivinne Eve Red Buhay.
Opening Reception will be on August 15, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Daley Center Lobby. Admission is free.
A cultural program will be presented at the outdoor stage of the Daley Plaza at noon on Monday, August 22. (details below)
