The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago and the Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago (FAHSC) are pleased to announce the launching of Chicago Celebrates 150 Years of Dr. Jose P. Rizal webpage on December 10, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Consulate located at 30 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 2100, Chicago, IL 60602.

The event will serve as Chicago’s kick-off activity for next year’s sesquicentennial celebration of Dr. Rizal’s birth.

This joint project of the Philippine Consulate General and the Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago (FAHSC) intends to generate awareness on Dr. Jose Rizal, broaden participation in the sesquicentennial celebration of his birth and to serve as an information platform for the year-long celebration. All Consulate and community activities about Dr. Rizal during the period will be posted in the webpage and will be linked to the present website of the Consulate for easy access by the general public.
